Rogue x Gambit

This is one of the pieces I submitted to Marvel as part of my sample set--well, it wasn't part of the actual portfolio but I included it in the email Mr. Cebulski instructed me to send them. Lineart was done by the awesome Paulo Sequiera.

I find that simply filling the white spaces with color is not enough 90% of the time. In my method of coloring, I tend to alter the color of the lines, themselves to give a sense of unity between the lines and the colors in the white space under them. It also separates the actual figure that has that color and the other elements surrounding it.
