Hashirama Senju

This is a piece that I felt I owed myself to finish. You see, I follow the Naruto manga series by Shonen Jump--it's a Japanese comic book/anime series written and drawn by Masashi Kishimoto. And what I do during my down-time is to draw my rendition of characters in that series because, well, they are just so awesome. And for the longest time, I haven't had that much of a chance to draw for me so here we are :)

As I was saying, this series is just way too good. I mean, each character has a backstory that, in itself, can be the basis of their own individual spin-offs. How cool is that? And even the story is amazing: it is linear but branch out extensively and yet still find a singular storyline where it all meets. And this guy here is one of the big guys in the entire plot. He is Hashirama Senju. He's been dead for decades in the current plot but his character has had a huge influence on the entire Naruto world that he still remains relevant.

ANYWAY... I draw this on the back of a thick, 200gsm, toothed watercolor paper. Don't ask why--seemed like a good idea at that time. And it worked. So put that in yer pipe and smoke it. I also used a 2H and a 2B pencil, Copic Multiliner pens, PITT pens (for finishing inks), and Copic Neutral Gray markers.

I will color this soon so watch out! :)
